Author of Can You Love a Nanobot?

Early on, I decided to share knowledge gained studying at Pennsylvania State University with people in other nations. Words and photographs were the tools I chose.

Years working in Puerto Rico, India, and Haiti after college provide me with a different perspective than most people born and raised in the United States. In those places I managed clinics, taught English, and agriculture while learning languages and culture. 

Beekeeping became a life-long hobby starting Moca in 1979.

Later I became an instructor for businesses, governments, and aid organizations. That role took me to even more places to meet more people. Getting paid to learn advanced technologies, I became the wizard thousands depended on to understand networks, software, and the Internet.

Before and after days in classrooms I took to the roads, running in fields and forests for hours. I completed 26 marathons but also developed a love for nature.

Now I use my insight, photographs, and experience to share my vision of the Earth’s future. The result is my science fiction trilogy Can You Love a Nanobot? or CYLAN.

CYLAN is about people discovering the good and bad emerging from advances in A.I., robots, and nanotechnology. While a work of fiction, the developments in my books are very real and poised to completely alter our world.

I still keep bees so expect to learn about swarms, flowers, and the natural world in the pages of CYLAN. Biomimicry, machines modeled on living creatures, plays an important role throughout. Life on farms in Maine and Portugal keeps me grounded while, alongside my readers, we explore the boundaries of many universes.
